IT Infrastructure vs IT infrastructure. Often an imminent license saving, eliminate a hw acquisition, i.e what is above the waterline. Google's experiences with Cloud Computing is that those companies that get's the greatest returns and value, are those that evalute strategically and below the waterline. This being transformation in business processes, in technology acquisition and in corporate culture.
PaaS - Why-when-how and maybe why not? – by Henrik Hasselbalch (IBM)
Platform-as-a-Service is sometimes regarded as having the largest potential versus IaaS and SaaS. Many customers are looking towards PaaS to reduce cost and complexity, but when is it applicable versus IaaS and SaaS.
